Today, lifelong Alaskan Mary Peltola joined a picket line with Alaska flight attendants for Horizon Air to hear directly from them about their fight for fair working conditions and pay.

“As an independent voice for Alaska, I will always stand up for Alaskan’s right to organize and collectively bargain for better pay and working conditions,” said Mary Peltola. “Alaska is a union state. Our workers have always shown up for Alaska, and I’ll always show up for them by fighting for fair wages, safe workplaces, and the freedom to organize.”

Mary has been a steadfast champion for Alaska workers. She co-sponsored the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act to enshrine workers’ collective bargaining rights, stood up to her own party to fight for and secure the Willow oil project to deliver stable, good-paying union jobs to Alaska, has led the fight against factory trawlers, and organized Alaskans to block the Kroger-Albertson’s merger that would have spiked grocery prices and harmed workers.

In the Senate, Mary will fight to cut taxes for hardworking Alaskans, increase wages for workers, bring down the cost of groceries, gas, housing, and childcare for Alaska working families, fix the rigged system in DC that prioritizes special interests over Alaska workers, make Alaska more affordable for Alaska working families, restore Alaska’s fisheries, and bring down energy costs by boosting oil and gas development.

Mary is endorsed by the Alaska AFL-CIO and Alaska AFGE.
