Today, Alaskans for Mary launched “Veterans for Mary,” a group made up of more than 100 founding members representing Alaska veterans from all branches of the military who are supporting lifelong Alaskan and military mom Mary Peltola in her bid for U.S. Senate, citing her tireless record of advocacy and her plan to strengthen and expand benefits, lower costs, improve VA healthcare, and fight for servicemembers, veterans, and their families.
“As the mom of two Coasties, as an Alaskan, and as an American, I have deep gratitude for the sacrifices our men and women in uniform make every day. Unfortunately, too many servicemembers, veterans and their families are being stretched thin by DC price hikes, while politicians put special interests first,” said Mary Peltola. “I’ll keep fighting to ensure Alaska veterans receive the healthcare, benefits, and pay they’ve earned, because Alaska veterans deserve a Senator who keeps their promises.”
In their endorsement letter, the coalition of veterans cited Mary’s tireless advocacy on behalf of veterans and military families – including her work to ensure that all Alaska veterans have access to the healthcare and the benefits they’ve earned.
As Alaska’s representative, Mary pushed through the biggest pay raise for our troops in decades. She fought to expand benefits for veterans, servicemembers, and their families – supporting legislation to combat food insecurity among veterans, servicemembers, and military families, and expand healthcare access for rural Alaska veterans. And she secured billions for the VA, veterans’ healthcare and benefits, and Alaska military bases.

Our Fellow Alaskans,
We’re a group of Alaska veterans who have served in the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and National Guard who proudly endorse Mary Peltola to be Alaska’s next United States Senator.
Alaska veterans, servicemembers, and military families across our state are facing serious challenges — from DC cuts to the Department of Veterans’ Affairs impacting healthcare access, to cuts to food assistance, to the rising cost of gas, groceries, and housing. We need a Senator in our corner who will take these issues seriously. We need a Senator who will fight to bring down costs, protect and expand the healthcare and benefits we’ve earned, and always put Alaska veterans and military families first. That person is lifelong Alaskan and military mom, Mary Peltola.
Mary has always stood by veterans, servicemembers, and military families. She has consistently fought to ensure that all Alaska veterans can access the healthcare they need and the benefits they’ve earned.
In the Senate, we know Mary will continue fighting for us and advocating for affordable healthcare and expanded benefits for our veterans and service members, and lower costs for Alaska military families. She has a clear plan to bring down the cost of gas, groceries, housing, childcare, and protect and expand the Overseas Cost of Living Allowance so servicemembers and their families can afford to live in the state they’re protecting. We can count on her to stand for us.
As the mother of two Coasties, as an Alaskan, and as an American, Mary knows firsthand the sacrifices our servicemembers and military families make for their country, and she has shown time and time again that she will put Alaska veterans, servicemembers, and their families first.
Mary has always stood with our servicemembers and veterans — and that’s why we’re proud to stand with her in her campaign for Senate.
Sincerely,
