ALASKA – On the fourth anniversary of the United States Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, Mary Peltola issued the following statement:
“Four years ago today, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, reversing decades of precedent that gave women the freedom to make their own decisions about their own bodies for nearly 50 years. Today, on the anniversary of the Dobbs decision, I want to be crystal clear about where I stand on this issue: I will always fight for the personal freedoms of Alaska women and will stand up to anyone trying to rip those rights away. These healthcare decisions belong between a woman and her doctor, and as Alaska’s next United States Senator, I will always protect the right to choose.”
Mary is a lifelong Alaskan, mother, and grandmother. During her time in the U.S. House of Representatives she fought tirelessly to protect Alaskan women’s right to safe and legal abortion.
