As the price of gas, diesel, heating fuel, and groceries continues to skyrocket thanks to Dan Sullivan’s price-hiking war in Iran, Mary Peltola issued the following statement:
“A dozen times Dan Sullivan has voted to continue the war in Iran. A dozen times Dan Sullivan has voted to jack up our prices. Sullivan’s fuel price hikes affect everyone – from our smallest fishing boat in the ocean, to families heating their homes through winter, to remote communities in Alaska like Shungnak who are now going to be paying $26.82 a gallon of gas throughout the entire winter until their spring barge comes.
“Alaskans have had enough. We need a senator who is willing to solve the problem, not one still voting for a war that keeps driving prices up while enriching himself – it’s time for change.”
Dan Sullivan has voted in support of the price-hiking war in Iran more than ten times, even as it sends fuel prices to record highs – spiking prices nearly 50% – and causes real economic pain for Alaska families. Meanwhile, Mary has introduced popular plans to lower energy costs and put more money back in Alaskans’ pockets. Alaskans will send Mary Peltola to the Senate this November to put Alaska first.
