Crowd of enthusiastic supporters showcased growing grassroots momentum generated by Peltola’s Alaska First Campaign.

ANCHORAGE – On Saturday, lifelong Alaskan Mary Peltola celebrated Iditarod weekend the Alaska way. Following the ceremonial start of the Last Great Race in Anchorage, Peltola drew a packed house at 49th State Brewing, where she spoke with Alaskans about her vision to put Alaska first and fix the rigged system in DC.
“We’ve had enough of self-enriching politicians who feather their own nests at the expense of Alaskans,” said Mary Peltola. “Factory trawling is destroying our fisheries, rural Alaskans are paying $17 for a gallon of milk, and no one in DC is doing a thing about it. I’m running to change that, and I’m grateful to have the support of so many friends and neighbors in our fight to lower costs, fix the rigged system in DC, and put Alaska first.”
At the event Mary talked with the crowd about her mission to lift the crushing weight of rising grocery prices and health care costs, and fix the devastating impact of factory trawling on Alaskan fishermen. She pledged to lower costs for working families, work with all Alaskans to restore Alaska fisheries, and stand up to the rigged system in DC that allows politicians to enrich themselves while regular Alaskans pay the price. Saturday’s enthusiastic crowd made clear that Alaskans are excited to send Mary to the Senate to fight on their behalf. The overflowing crowd at 49th State presented a snapshot of a state that’s energized, engaged, and looking for new leadership that puts Alaska — not DC — first.
Saturday’s event is just the latest proof point of the grassroots momentum Mary is building in the state, and comes on the heels of a wildly successful campaign launch earlier this year. Since announcing her senate bid, over 1,000 people have signed up to volunteer for Mary’s campaign in the first week alone, proving that Alaskans are fired up and united behind Mary’s promise of fish, family, and freedom.
