This past weekend, lifelong Alaskan Mary Peltola rallied fired-up Alaskans to talk to their neighbors about her Alaska first campaign to fix the rigged system in DC and lower costs as part of a statewide weekend of action.
“This campaign is about making sure that we have representation in DC that will always put Alaska first,” said Mary Peltola. “It gives me so much hope to see so many Alaskans out here who are ready to talk to their friends and neighbors about what unites us, and it’s because of you that we’re going to win this race, fix the rigged system in DC, and lower costs for workers and families across Alaska.”
Marking one hundred days until the November general election, the canvass launch was part of the Alaska First Coordinated Campaign’s statewide weekend of action. Across 55 canvass launches this weekend, hundreds of Alaskans in cities and towns across the entire state volunteered to help elect Mary – making almost 10,000 door attempts and having nearly 2,000 conversations with their neighbors about the importance of sending Mary to the Senate to bring down costs, restore our fisheries, fix the rigged system in DC, and put Alaska first.
At the event, Mary spoke directly to Alaskans about her vision to put Alaska first. She pledged to take on the rigged system in DC that allows self-dealing politicians to profit at Alaskans’ expense, and laid out her plan to lower costs and fight for Alaska.
The energy at the canvass launch and at similar events across the state reflect the broader groundswell of support building for Mary and her Alaska first campaign. More than 10,000 Alaskans from over 160 different towns and communities across the state have signed up to help elect Mary. Volunteers with the Alaska First Coordinated Campaign have knocked over 32,000 doors over the course of this campaign, leading to record-breaking support for Mary from every borough and census area in Alaska.
