ALASKA – Today, Cook Political Report shifted their rating for Alaska’s United States Senate race to a toss-up, showing the undeniable momentum for lifelong Alaskan and former fishing boat captain Mary Peltola in her campaign to take on the rigged system in DC and put Alaska first.
“Alaskans know that Mary is the only candidate in this race who will stand up to anyone to lower costs, restore abundance, and actually put our state first – and that’s why they’re showing up in unprecedented numbers to send Mary to the Senate,” said Alaskans for Mary Campaign Manager Elisa Rios. “Alaskans are fed up with Dan Sullivan enabling the rigged DC system to hike prices and leave our state behind. Mary will fight to fix the rigged system in DC and always put Alaska first.”
Cook Political Report’s rating change reflects the overwhelming grassroots support for Mary and her tireless focus on putting Alaska first. More than 10,000 Alaskans from over 160 different towns and communities across the state have signed up to help elect Mary. She’s received record-breaking support from every borough and census area in Alaska, and recently earned the endorsement of the Alaska AFL-CIO. She just returned from her tour of cities and villages across The Interior, and has been criss-crossing the state for months speaking with volunteers, dog sledding with supporters, rallying Alaskans, and meeting with voters from Fairbanks to Juneau.
While Dan Sullivan’s popularity continues to decline after repeatedly supporting a price-hiking war in Iran, the enduring effects of which are still harming Alaska, Mary has introduced popular plans to clean up DC corruption, restore abundance, and put more money back in Alaskans’ pockets. Alaskans will send Mary Peltola to the Senate this November to put Alaska first.
